Mr. Shaver has been an Industry leader in Capital Improvement Projects for 20 years soon after his Honorable discharge from the United States Marine Corps when cancer came into his life. Rob started his construction and engineering career as a carpenter soon after serving his country in Bosnia and Somalia in the early-mid 1990’s earning $6.50 hr as a decorated veteran. He soon showed the leadership and initiative that the USMC teaches all Marines to excel and learn his trade while focusing on all Divisions of Construction to a foreman level of field expertise.
Rob has performed projects from Custom Carpentry and Hand hewn Log Homes in Montana to Arizona as a Builder- Developer, to major State and federal Highway Bridge and relocations of interstate, as a Party Chief Surveyor in charge of layout all by the time of 28 years old.
After a break from the construction industry were Rob worked for a law firm attending night school for legal studies and litigation during the time period of September 11, 2001, he felt compelled to find a solution to protect and fight the enemies who attacked his state and city of New York.
Operation Iraqi Freedom, Rob served as a GS-15 with the DOD/DOS and USACE as a contractor in charge of Personal Security details (PSD) as a team leader for two years sustaining a spinal injury that he recovered from and back to work in Iraq to later finding a passion for Healthcare.
Soon after OIF Rob was given a chance as a Carpenter Foreman to build a Cancer Care Center for York county Maine were Rob lived at the time. As a cancer survivor Rob took Healthcare Equipment Cut sheets home and studied the mechanics and hook ups to be able to trouble shoot and build to the design specifications. Rob was soon promoted to Field Superintendent to build the first IBC 2006 code compliant free standing self-contained ambulatory surgery center with Pre-Post op and Ante room care for Maine Medical center. After completion and meeting the Maine Governor at the time John Baldacci, he was recruited by Turner Construction Healthcare to come to Washington DC and build for the World Renowned Inova Health system. After eight months with Turner Rob impressed the client Inova and was recruited and Turner’s contract terminated to be now Inova Health Systems owner Representative in charge of CIP projects for IFH Fairfax Hospital and IFOH Fair Oaks with later picking up IAH Alexandria and ILH Louden Hospital and all off site ASC/MOB’s and Healthplex to be developed and Built.
Rob won the Fairfax County Green land Conservation development award for $20 million and under in project cost for IMVH Lorton Healthplex for Mount Vernon and mentioned in the Congressional Record for his Team on conservation and development.
Today Rob is a principle with BISCO Global Holdings LLC development working with members of both Public and Private works to build cost effective CIP programs with his sound experience in Budget management and Risk to Development and Project control oversight. Nothing but the best
